Modi to offer prayers at Guruvayoor
Prime Minister Narendra Modi to offer prayers at Kerala’s Guruvayur shrine on 8th of June. This will be his first visit after being elected as the Prime Minister as the second time. According to the sources, Modi will be spending at least 45 minutes in the shrine. As senior temple authority says, Modi will reach the State by noon and will be participating in the ‘Uchapooja’.
The Prime Minister will be at the temple only for prayer and no other plans are scheduled for official purpose. Guruvayur temple is famous for Lord Krishna one of the most significant Vaishnava temples in South India. Modi had offered prayers at Sri-Padmanabha Swami temple in last January.
The demand for a helipad at Guruvayur was raised many years ago where the frequent visit of VIPs. As the Prime Minister coming to Guruvayur, the demand fulfills. A permanent helipad is constructing at Guruvayur. PWD is in charge of the construction under the orders of Collector T.V Anupama. The collector had a discussion about helipad with Devaswom Chairman P.K Mohandas since the place is under Guruvayur Devaswom. The sports ground of Sree Krishna was used as temporary helipad, now the helipad is constructing there permanently.
